Borofloat Glass

Borofloat Glass is a highly chemically resistant borosilicate glass with a particularly low coefficient of thermal expansion.  It is resistant to acids, alkalis, and organic substances, high and fluctuating temperature levels, as well as scratches and abrasion. Borofloat is often used as a less expensive equivalent to Pyrex for many applications.

Benefits of Borofloat Glass

  • Excellent Resistance to Thermal Shock
  • Very good temperature stability
  • Excellent resistance to acids
  • High resistance to alkalis
  • High hydrolytic resistance
  • Strong resistance to abrasion and scratches
  • Low weight
