The Diamond Turning/Serialization Machine Operator will be responsible for diamond turning and serialization of process work on production parts. The functions are performed in adherence with the pre-established dicing process sheets that identify the manufacturing procedures specific to each type of part that is being manufactured to ensure and maintain lot integrity.

  • Setup and operation of Ultra Precision Diamond Turning Machine and Laser Marker for both automatic and manual machining
  • Read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
  • Follow standard operating protocols to ensure machine tool performances
  • Follow all safety protocols
  • Test work results visually and with optical equipment to document yield data in the manufacturing database
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and record data in manufacturing database if applicable
  • Maintain an organized and clean work area
  • Work independently with minimal supervision
  • Cross train as requested in other areas of the company

Experience

Minimum of 1 year machine tooling experience, prior laser machining experience is desired. Must be able to work in a standing position for up to 10 hours. Must be able to wear a lab coat, spittle mask and gloves while working. Position may require working with chemicals, measuring devices and microscopes. Individual must have previous experience working in a similar environment. Must be able to work with excellent time management, organizational and communication skills.

  • Support of Quality Assurance and Quality Control aspects for Stellar Industries core processes
  • Coordination of all Quality Assurance aspects within respective departments

Position Requirements

Experience

Minimum of 3-5 years prior experience in a similar position required. Must have strong working knowledge of quality control and manufacturing equipment and processes. Professional certifications such as 6 Sigma Green/Black Belt is preferred. Must be able to handle multiple projects across the organization and provide leadership to collaborate and work with employees at varying level of seniority. MS Office applications and data analysis software experience required. Must exhibit strong organizational skills and the ability to lead and to gain the respect of other employees. Familiarity with Stellar Industries products is preferred.

Education

Minimum of 2-year technical degree (manufacturing/mechanical engineering) or the suitable combination of education and work experience. Bachelors / graduate degree with relevant coursework is preferred.

Full Job Description

During this internship, the intern will be exposed to Stellar Industries Corp.’s day to day operations. Most of the tasks will be cross-departmental and he/she will need to engage with other department managers/employees at Stellar Industries Corp. Some of his/her tasks are listed below.

  • Engage in Value Stream Mapping and Process Improvement activities for business critical product lines.
  • Work closely with Process Engineers to analyze historical data and develop Quality Control Plans to increase output and stabilize product quality
  • 5S Workshops in various areas of production floor
  • Identify and extract necessary data out of TUSM’s Manufacturing Execution System to create operational dashboards à Convert big data into valuable data by analyzing, preparing and transforming required information into user interfaces by utilizing tools like Power BI
  • Create SOPs and training material for SAP Business One ERP system which is set to be implemented
  • Other related duties as assigned by the Manager

He/She will receive an initial 2-3 days orientations training to get familiar with our employees and internal processes. Other means of training are but not limited to reading internal guidelines, standard operating procedures and attending on-site trainings we might offer.

The Production Controller is responsible for processing and monitoring customer orders to ensure cost-effective production, detailed planning, and on-time product delivery. The Production Controller interacts closely with new and existing customers related to the acceptance of purchase orders, dissemination of estimated delivery dates and alerts customers of delayed deliverables.

  • Assess the inventory quantity for materials required for orders and alerts the Purchasing Manager if procurement is required
  • Plan, schedule, release production orders for requirements driven by make-to-order and make-to-stock requirements using the ERP business system and ensure production steps’ completion including outside services
  • Explore/test potential improvements of production processes in cooperation with local team
  • Create and maintain ERP related data for new and existing products, including material master data, work centers and other production related data set up by others
  • Expedite and alert the Production Manager of delays in the production process that may affect previously provided finish dates and notify customer of schedule changes
  • Utilize available digital production/visualization tools to ensure operational excellence
  • Maintain KPI metrics to measure the on-time start and on-time delivery of customer orders
  • Attends departmental and operations meetings as required
  • Other related duties as designated by the department manager

Experience

At least years of prior experience with production control in a manufacturing environment. Exceptional ability to communicate verbally and in writing with colleagues and customers. Must be highly organized and have the ability to multi-task in a busy work environment to prioritize workload. Must have worked with a business system, preferably SAP Business One. Good understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and their application is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Education

2-year technical degree or suitable combination of education and work experience.
